Software for Innovation?

Is there software for directed innovation? I've heard of Goldfire – anyone have any experience with this?
I work for a major pharmaceutical company. I wonder if using software would be a way to ease into innovation processes. Any ideas and suggestions would be most welcome.

We have been using Invention Machine products, including Goldfire for many years.
As far as software solutions go, we like it for walking through the process, researching and generating reports, either as a team or individuals.
I don't think any software compensates for real people committed to real innovation.

There are several software products that specifically support TRIZ (CREAX, Ideation Workbench, several products from Systematic-Innovation.com, Pretium, TRISOLVER, etc.) Goldfire from Invention Machine Co., which was mentioned in previous posts, is the broadest, deepest, etc., and also has a lot of other product development features outside the TRIZ realm. I agree, even though I am also a user and trainer with TRIZ and several software products (not Goldfire). If one starts with software as opposed to the mental TRIZ algorithm, TRIZ will not survive. I have seen many problems solved with just the concepts of ideal final result and resource use and identification–not even needing contradiction tables or software. The solutions could have been found that way, but at a much longer time and cost. Software should be used only after the basic concepts and algorithms are understood. I have also seen situations where software has fallen into disuse after the mental analysis gets so strongly imbedded that it's no longer needed.

I wish there were! It would make things easier. But (as far as i know), it is not possible for one software program to do it all.

You could contact Imaginatik, http://www.imaginatik.com. Their product IdeaCentral supports end to end the idea management process. Might help?
