Hi,

I work with the marketing services dept of this company and am charged with developing innovative tools for marketing of color pigments.

I have used the Random stimulus tool and was successful in generating a few ideas.

Please let me know an adequate tool to come with new ideas.

I am the only person in the group who is formally trained in innovation

You could generate a list of all the attributes the pigments have. E.g. colorrange, liquid-solid, crystal form, toxic level, smell, solvable in, melting point, current applications, hardness etc.

For every attribute search for products for which this attribute is the most important attribute and look how these products are marketed. Use this as a trigger for new approaches.

E.g. 1) the pigments smell 2) topsmell => eau de toilette, Chanel etc. 3) Question: how is Chanel (etc) marketing their product. 4) Answer: focus on seductive, class and style,… 5) The questions becomes: – how can I make the pigments seductive?- how can I give the pigments class?- how can I give the pigments style? eau de toilette, Chanel etc. 3) Question: how is Chanel (etc) marketing their product. 4) Answer: focus on seductive, class and style,… 5) The questions becomes: – how can I make the pigments seductive?- how can I give the pigments class?- how can I give the pigments style?

Hope this helps finding new approaches for your marketing. Please share the attributes and (some) results so we can see how it works out for you.

Hi Sandeep,

If you work on this subject permanently in your company and team I would recommend you develop map of a problematic situation. Than you can use the map to make proposals on marketing and new product activities for a long time. For this Purpose can be used OTSM network of problems. It is also good and powerful tool for Knowledge management the particular or general problematic situations. It will help you identify correct problems according specific OTSM rules that should be solved. Automatically you will have additional positive effect – increase your competence in the domain. Because of application OTSM Network of problem will support systematic representation of knowledge available in your team and around. To solve problems selected out of OTSM network of problems you can use either ARIZ or OTSM tools: “Tongs model”, Express analysis of a problematic situation and, finally,  OTSM Contradiction technology. OTSM Has also more advanced tools for most complex problematic situations Network of Contradictions and Network of Parameters.
