I'm in Six Sigma and would very much like to learn about TRIZ but I have no earthly idea where to start. Are there any good books on TRIZ that will help me get started in the right direction? I really don't want to learn about the history of TRIX…just how it can be implemented? Thanks!

One of the best books that I know about TRIZ is “Engineering of Creativity – Introduction to Triz Methodology and Inventive Problem Solving”, written by Semyon Savransky, CRC Press – USA.
The ISBN is 0849322553.
It's a very complete and exaustive book that I recommend to every one seriously interested in TRIZ.

For a person who is engaged in Six Sigma work, two good choices are by 2 of The TRIZ Journal editors:
Insourcing Innovation by Michael Slocum, et al. deals with the “how to” of TRIZ and with how to incorporate it into your Six Sigma initiative
Simplified TRIZ, by Kalevi Rantanen and Ellen Domb, is primarily a “how to use TRIZ for problem solving” book, but Chapter 14 is how to incorporate TRIZ into Six Sigma.
The TRIZ Journal has had many articles about TRIZ with Six Sigma–the ones by Michael Slocum and Elena Averbuch are particularly good. Go to the “archive” page and use the little search engine.
