In my experience the ideal innovation team is the team that figures out: how to work together respectfully, challenge assumptions productively, when to go get expert help/opinions/insights when necessary, they don't have all the answers and that's why they are on a team working on a creative challenge, how to fail fast in order to learn something that will move them forward, each others individual strengths and weaknesses, the power of curiosity, knows how to navigate the bureaucracy, which tools to use and when to use them.
