Principle # 10: Preliminary Action

It is always a hassle to make the perfect or almost perfect boil eggs without running into some troubles. Having high-quality protein (eggs) are always healthy, but with our busy lifestyle, it is usually substituted for protein-based health drinks. The creative silicone egg boiler available in the market by many manufacturers is an excellent example of how the use of TRIZ 40 inventive principles derived from the Contradiction Matriz solves our everyday problems.

A non-stick silicone egg container/boiler

How it works:

The non-stick silicone egg boiler reduces the time taken to clean the shells of boil eggs (parameter 25) while retaining the same shape of a regular boil egg (parameter 12). The inventive principle of preliminary action can be seen when the eggs are cracked and poured into the container, thus eliminating the need for peeling off the shell.

  • Single eggs are first crack and poured into the container. This helps in filtering the good eggs from the bad ones. After pouring the egg into the container, additional ingredients can be added if desired.
  • Silicone containers are then placed into a pan with water and put on boil.
  • Eggs are allowed to cook from hard to soft boil eggs.
